Our Mission

Sustainable materials are essential for reducing our environmental and promoting a healthier planet. By using these materials, we conserve natural resources, minimize waste, and lower carbon emissions. These materials also promote better health for consumers and workers, as they are typically free harmful chemicals. Embracing sustainability is not just a trend; it's a responsibility we owe to future generations.

Yarn

Our kits use Go Handmade yarn — a dreamy blend of 40% Tencel and 60% Bamboo.
Tencel comes from FSC-certified wood chips (mostly beech and eucalyptus), making it one of the most planet-friendly fibers out there. Bonus: it's softer than silk and kinder to your skin than wool or cotton. Oh, and it's super absorbent.

Stuffing

We use Trimits stuffing in all of our products.

This is 100% recycled polyester, reducing the environmental impact. It is also hypoallergenic and really soft!

It complies to BS5852 British flammability test. Valid cleanliness certificate & EN71-3 European standards certificate.

Crochet Hooks, Needles & Stitch Markers

All of our hooks, needles, and stitch markers are made from metal making them more eco friendly than the plastic alternative.

We also looked at using wooden hooks, but found that they can snag the yarn if not sanded properly, and we don't want to ruin your wonderful creations! We're still on the look out for a reliable source of wooden hooks, so if you know of any company making these (that don't snag yarn), please let us know at sophie@mindfulcraftingclub.co.uk.

Earrings

Our earrings are made from copper plated 925 silver meaning they are hypoallergenic.

The stoppers are made of silicone.

Packaging & Marketing

We use 100% recyclable packaging & marketing materials on all of our products. This could be:

  • Cotton muslin bags for all of our kits: cotton muslin is biodegradable, compostable, and a renewable resource.

  • Card earring backing

  • Cardboard boxes for postage

  • Paper bags at in-person events

  • Recycled paper instruction leaflets & marketing materials
